In 1969, TAG Heuer released the first automatic chronograph, and broke with tradition by creating the first square waterproof case to house it. The Monaco became an instant icon on the wrist of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen in the 1970 film, Le Mans.

To commemorate the final time TAG Heuer are using the world-famous Calibre 12 in their Monaco range, this Final Edition watch has been limited to just 1,000 pieces worldwide. Each watch bears the epithet "ONE OF 1000", engraved on its caseback.
