In 1976, in the middle of a watch industry crisis, Mr Raymond Weil founded his eponymous watch company. His creations were immediately praised by watch enthusiasts - amateurs and connoisseurs alike. Now, nearly 50 years after its creation RAYMOND WEIL is still a family-run business; under the leadership of Mr Weil's grandson the company continues to develop and consolidate its status among the leading names of the Swiss watch industry.

When Mr. Weil decided to turn his passion into a reality and treat himself to his first aircraft, his natural choice was a Dakota made by the Piper Aircraft company.

William T. Piper and Raymond Weil shared more than a passion for flying. They had the same vision and a common goal: to make their products accessible to as many people as possible whilst guaranteeing quality, tradition and precision. It is only thanks to such passionate founders so determined to democratise luxury that these two companies ever saw the light of day.

These two firms might become one, giving rise to the company's first pilot’s watch, a freelancer Piper, with details reminiscent of a range of aircraft components. The watch is provided in a special case, also containing a model of the Piper Meridian customised for the occasion in the colours of RAYMOND WEIL.
