Coloured Stone

Peridot, the birthstone for August, is seen as a gem of good health, healing and compassion.

Ancient Egyptians called peridot the “gem of the sun”, believing it protected its wearer from terrors of the night: Cleopatra loved it for its beauty also. Whilst ancient Hawaiian folklore told stories of the gems being tears from the goddess of elements, Pele.

The traditional four claw setting of polished 9ct yellow gold displays these vibrant stones wonderfully.
