Coloured Stone Pendants

Legends and folklore place garnet among the most ancient of talismans.

Not only was it prized as an ornamental jewel, but it was also thought that it could bring peace, prosperity, and good health to the home. It was carried for protection by warriors going into battle and those who wanted to ward off diseases. Some ancient healers even placed garnets in wounds, praising its healing powers.

The rich, deep tones of the pear-shaped garnet are beautifully framed by a rubover setting in yellow gold. The pendant glides effortlessly along an 18" fine curb chain for a sleek and classic look. This piece features a shortening station, meaning the pendant can be raised or lowered as necklines (or modesty!) dictate.

Garnets are the birthstone for January but their colour is autumnal - making them ideal to wear all year round.
