Peridot, the birthstone for August, is seen as a gem of good health, healing and compassion.

Ancient Egyptians called peridot the “gem of the sun”, believing it protected its wearer from terrors of the night: Cleopatra loved it for its beauty also. Whilst ancient Hawaiian folklore told stories of the gems being tears from the goddess of elements, Pele.

These peridot and diamond earrings offer a new take on a classic, timeless look.

The cushion cut peridot is set within a 9ct yellow gold four claw setting and then framed within a surround of 10 illusion set round brilliant cut diamonds.
