Coloured Stone Pendants

In ancient Sanskrit, ruby was called ratnaraj, or “king of precious stones”. Loved and revered in both the Eastern and Western Worlds, in ancient times and modern, has accumulated a host of legends over the centuries. It remains an eternal symbol of passion, and makes an ideal romantic gift.

Enjoying its peak popularity during the Gothic and Renaissance eras, the quatrefoil - four leaf clover - design has endured for millennia. Representing many things to many different people (Christians often see it as representing the four Gospel writers or as representing the cross, Ancient Mayans saw it as representing the underworld) it is a symbol of both luxury and good luck to many.

This ruby and diamond pendant consists of a central ruby nestled within an openwork quatrefoil design containing 4 rubover set brilliant cut diamonds.

Suspended from an 18", 9ct yellow gold curb link chain, with a shortening station at 16", to allow for adjustment as the n eckline (or one's modesty!) dictates.
